Fly and line fishing in New Zealand is amongst the best in the world catching mainly Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout and the occasional Salmon. The lakes and rivers we fish are within 2 1/2 hours drive of Christchurch city and are well stocked with fish suitable for both the learner and the experienced fisherman, either by fly fishing with dry fly,wet fly, lures or nymphs or line fishing with toby's, jigs, rigs or even bait in some fishing spots.

We mainly sight cast for trout by stalking them first, or night fish the feeding lies, wind lies and foam off the banks of both rivers and lakes .
You can fish the rivers of the Canterbury area for Salmon with both tycers and Z spinners, colour flashed with a 9 ft solid glass rod & surf reel & enjoy the fight and catch.

Why not try it! We have and its great to be on the side of a river or lake between December & February. You're on site for 2 - 3 days and can fish 24 hours a day without interruption. There are 6 lakes to camp next to and fish only a few minutes drive from camp base.  Staying in tents and a pop top camper, with all the modern comforts of home (well, most of them). All sleeping and cooking equipment, food and refreshments are supplied.- even the sleeping bag. Try our outdoor BBQ cooking with maybe a freshly caught Trout or Salmon cooked on it. It's DELISHIMO....even we can even eat it!!! Remember these trips are Seasonal   November - February

Cabins are available along side some rivers in Canterbury i.e. the Ashley & Selwyn rivers, at reasonable rates generally equipped out.  Food & refreshment are the only requirements
      Tenting Outback

What can we say!!!. "The only way to go"  right on the lake edge, in amongst the native bush.Hear the trout feeding on the insect hatches, Smell the crisp night air, and listen to the cicadas and night beetles hitting the canvas trying to find the lantern light, in the still of a summers evening. A UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE
