North Canterbury Fishing Seasons Facts
October 1st is the opening
season for rivers and streams, November 6th for backcountry Lakes &
Rivers and runs through to April 30th with some fishing areas left open for
"Winter fishing". There are restricted fishing areas over the period shown in
the bulletin issued when you purchase a license
The License
A licence can be purchased at most sporting and local fishing tackle shops or
at a Fish & Game Council office (who administer the resource).
WHOLE SEASON; $65.00
ONE WEEK; $25.00
Local area ,48 hour $20.00, and 24 hour $13.00
license can be purchased. |

The back country season is about to start again in the lakes and rivers. The
weekend of the 4th sees Russell hibernate to the lakes of the South Island particularly
Lake Self area Russell found a wonderful spot .He will be fishing with a client for that
